Canada - CISA Exam Review Courses

The Winnipeg Manitoba Chapter is offering a 3-day CISA Review Course to assist individuals in preparing for the 2010 CISA exam, scheduled to take place on 12 June, 2010. This review course will provide attendees with a presentation for each domain focusing on the key concepts. The presenter will then ask attendees specific questions to provide them with practice answering and understanding the types of questions that will be presented on the exam.

Instructor: John Tannahill, CA, CISM, CGEIT, is a management consultant specializing in information security and audit services.

John is a member of the Toronto ISACA Chapter and has spoken at many ISACA Conferences and Chapter Events including ISACA Training Weeks.

CISA Revision Workshop

This intensive workshop provides an excellent opportunity to clarify the thought processes when working under pressure. The format is primarily a review of the task and knowledge requirements for each CISA domain, as contained in the CISA Review Manual, including test questions with a discussion on the ‘correct’ answer to each question.It is emphasised that this is a revision course i.e. an opportunity to go over work already done prior to taking the exam; it is not a course of study. Delegates are expected to have previously studied and absorbed the subject matter covered in the CISA Review Manual. The workshop leader will be John Mitchell who is a past President of the London Chapter. John is a very experienced trainer and has delivered training courses in throughout the world. He is also a recipient of ISACA’s prestigious John Kuyers award for best ISACA conference contributor.

Im Rahmen eines 6-tägigen Vorbereitungskurses erhalten Sie einen Einblick in die Kapitel des Examens. Sie erhalten auch Unterlagen, die Ihnen helfen werden, den zu lernenden Stoff zu erfassen. Außerdem erhalten Sie im Kurs die Möglichkeit, offene Fragen von kompetenter Stelle beantworten zu lassen und sie lernen durch die Fragen ihrer KollegInnen.

Der Kurs wird in Deutsch abgehalten. Da jedoch sämtliche Vorbereitungsmaterialien in englischer Sprache vorliegen, werden auch englische Folien eingesetzt (mit Ausnahme von Überblicksfolien). Nach jedem Kapitel werden beispielhaft ausgewählte Fragen in englischer Sprache selbstständig durchgearbeitet und die Lösungen besprochen. Dadurch haben sie eine laufende Überprüfung ihrer Lernfortschritte. Die Art der Fragestellung wird jener des Examens entsprechen, damit haben sie eine Vorbereitung auf die echte Prüfung.
